so hey I got my blipshift shirt and ive been fitting stuff and stuff
This, of course, is one of Archduke’s designs. Also, I have cut my roof off.
In the bottom of the pic can be seen loldrivetrain.
Parts are approximately correct in relative position.
I’m making a valance for the chin - it’s not done yet.

The fenders were about an inch wide each side for the chosen bumper. So, they have been edited. Just tacked at the moment - lots of work remaining.

Did your profile picture get Kinja’d?
Also, you would look badass with a scruffy beard. But not too big, just a slightly past stubble beard.

Nice, got mine Friday. What necessitated roof removal?

This is my second profile. I post from home with my Google one and from work with a burner. Long story.

Comedy amounts of rust along the sides, which was repaired by apes. Apes with bondo. Also I’m making t-tops and putting a semi-hidden cage in.

Why did I not suspect T-tops? I should have known .

Well, at the front end, I’m modifying a 60 grill, 62 headlight surrounds, the 63 front end, and a 71 Mustang front bumper to all play nice with one another. Of course, you’re probably wondering more about the transfer case and jet drive. The answer there is: exactly what you don’t want to admit is obvious is going on.

Did you steal my fucking Irwin clamps? I’ve got about 6 that have all gone walkies.

Actually I lifted these from my younger brother. So, stolen yes, stolen from you, no.

Whenever I try to explain RR’s project to anyone, I’m met with a slightly tilted head and blank stares. This is absolutely what happens when you have a Fe2O3 Ranchero, a Rinspeed Squba perversion, and far too much time on your hands.

I wondered what you’ve been up to since SG-1 ended. Nice work Mr. Shanks.

Excellent. They’re not marring my surrounds any more than they already are, which is a plus, though they ARE a bit rougher than I’d have liked as such. I have to have my tig welding friend add a little filler to make them meet up with the grill better (different model year) and I’ll have to soften and hammer out a spot on each. Still, the Irwin’s are babying them until then.

I’m reverse-engineering Goa’uld amphibious Ranchero technology. Pretty simple, really.

That’s how the MontegoMan rolls, I highly recommend it. Awesomely easy facial hair maintenance that way.

I say keep the roof off. Screw structural rigidity. Convertibles trucks are cool.

Can you articulate a reason why *not* T-tops?

It’ll be nearly that open with the T-top panels off. Just about a 6” pass through the middle and connected posts on the ends. I.e. not a “true” T-top - the door tops and connection between A-pillar and B-pillar will still be there, which is easier to get sealing right with, and strength.

Absolutely not.
I have nothing that could justify not putting T-Tops in.
I just never, EVER, would have thought of it.
It’ll probably be fucking awesome.
still.
ALL THE WAT?!

Rusty roof that requires removal of all the points that would otherwise impede putting in what amounts to a cage that would stiffen everything up, and a roof skin that has surface rust, bondo, and holes, and has no reason to remain as-is. To me, that says t-tops. Oh, and since I’ll be wood-decking the bed, I wonder if I should veneer them.

I did’t know you were doing that cool. Are you going to put in glass removable panels?
RamblinRover Luxury-Yacht

I’d have to source them from some outfit capable of doing curved glass, whereas a steel panel is just a piece put through a roll brake once, and a wood panel would be veneer over a box frame. IOW, it will be one of those, or possibly steel with wood veneer.
